Located next to an abandoned dock along the Saône river (a tributary of the Rhône) in Lyon, France, is the newly opened Euronews headquarters, one of a series of eye-catching projects in the area by Jakob + Macfarlane. The Paris-based architecture firm collaborated with artist Fabrice Hyber for the structure’s neon-green façade, which has two distinct egg-shaped holes and is fabricated out of sheets of perforated aluminium, allowing light and air into the building. Construction for the facility, now home to 800 Euronews employees, took nearly five years. At 107,000 square feet, the new headquarters is double the size of the former one, and offers plenty of room for the company’s expanding staff.
