Earlier this week, the architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) unveiled its plans for 79 & Park, a mixed-use complex in Stockholm that has been designed to harmonize with the city’s most prominent green space, the Royal National City Park. Located adjacent to the six-mile-long park—which is home to a variety of deer, rabbits, foxes, moose, butterflies, and birds—BIG’s scheme calls for a block of terraced apartments whose rooftops will be planted with foliage.
The 140-unit complex will be made up of four connected sections, each sloping downward around a central courtyard, providing residents with necessary amounts of daylight and ventilation. The ground floor of 79 & Park will include commercial space. The project, which is being developed in collaboration with Oscar Properties, does not have a definitive completion date.
